Aaron Schieving Joins Chata Biosystems, LLC as Product Manager to the Tissue Bank Industry and Ashley Wilhelm Joins as Account Manager

Chata secures a Product Manager for the regenerative medicine market as well as an Account Manager to assist in continued growth.

We are pleased to announce that Aaron Schieving has joined Chata in the role of Product Manager. In his new role, Schieving will be responsible for supporting the tissue banking community in their mission to honor the gift of donation while working with the individual banks to ensure a constant supply of a consistent Chata product with a very high level of quality, combined with an engineered delivery system that fits their specific needs. Schieving brings over eight years of technical expertise from the tissue bank industry and has set up, validated, and supported many of the processes used today by the industry. Schieving joins Chata from LABS, Inc. and Nelson Laboratories, where he worked as Business Development Manager. In these roles Schieving provided technical laboratory consultation and developed strategic testing plans to fulfill the market aspirations and regulatory requirements for his clients.

Schieving holds an Executive Certificate of Global Business Management and is a Certified Quality Process Analyst (CQPA) from the America Society for Quality (ASQ).

Chata also welcomes Ashley Wilhelm who joined us in the role of Account Manager, based in Loveland, to support current customer accounts as well as strategic growth. Ashely has a B.A. in Media Arts from American University. She has worked as an account executive for Townsquare Media in Colorado as well as a Senior Marketing Associate for the Advisory Board Company in Washington, D.C. Chata Biosystems and Argenta Group Announce Mexican Distribution Agreement

Boval Company, LP and Argenta Group, LLC have announced an agreement to distribute Chata Biosystems’ premixed dissolution media and buffers in Mexico through Agenta’s subsidiary, Tecrom Group. Loveland, CO based Chata, a wholly-owned Boval division, manufacturers highly regulated mobile phases, dissolution media, and buffers for the pharmaceutical industry. Tecrom is a leading distributor of high quality laboratory supplies to the pharmaceutical industry in Mexico. Terms of the agreement are confidential and Tecrom will have exclusive distribution rights in Mexico to call on current and prospective clients with Chata’s full technical support.

Argenta’s President Pedro Cattori stated “the addition of Chata dissolution media allows us to service our existing and potential customer base with high value added products that will greatly improve their internal laboratory efficiency.”

Chata Biosystems, LLC names Greg Prouty Director of Engineering

Loveland, CO based Chata Biosystems, LLC promoted Greg Prouty to Director of Engineering. Chata, a wholly-owned Boval division, manufacturers highly regulated custom solutions for the pharmaceutical, ethanol, and tissue bank industries.
Mr. Prouty will be responsible for improving and maintaining manufacturing processes across all Boval subsidiaries.
Mr. Prouty was instrumental as General Manager of Chata’s day to day operations and most recently ensured Chata’s transition from Fort Collins to Loveland was seamless and efficient.  He brings with over 8 years experience in solution preparation and packaging engineering.  Mr. Prouty has been with the Chata for over 5 years, previous experience includes US Navy and Leprino Foods.  BS Chemical Engineering.

Chata Biosystems, LLC names Bob Brook General Manager

Chata Biosystems is excited to announce the addition of Bob Brook as General Manager of the Loveland manufacturing facility.  “Bob’s extensive expertise in the tissue bank industry only adds to Chata’s rich knowledge base and shows we are serious about manufacturing highly regulated products for highly specialized industries” says the company President, Cody Yarborough.
Mr. Brook has worked in the healthcare industry specializing in the unique challenges of tissue banks for over 15 years in operations and business management.  His role will be to serve as General Manager overseeing the day-to-day operations and business development opportunities.  
Prior to joining Chata Biosystems, Bob served as Chief Operating Officer for LABS, Inc. and Vice President, Operations for AlloSource.  Bob holds a BS in Biological Sciences from Colorado State University.

Boval Company, L.P. and Chata Biosystems, LLC,  both manufacturers of biological reagents and chemical preparations for the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, agricultural and energy industries, announced that they have been certified to the International Standards Organization’s ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 Quality Management Systems.  The certifications extend to both the Cleburne, Texas and Loveland, Colorado production facilities.  In making the announcement, the company’s president, Cody Yarborough, stated the ISO certification is a rigorous process designed to evaluate the quality systems against established values for improved customer service, quality assurance and manufacturing practices.  “I could not be more proud of our employees who not only had to unify the two quality systems following the Chata acquisition but then implemented the necessary changes across the two facilities.  The certification process required a significant investment owing to the intensive manufacturing operations at both sites and the wide variety of products we produce.  Two employees in particular, Lindy Schlotfeld in Cleburne and Michelle Stahla in Loveland, stood out because they took ownership of the process and led our company’s efforts”.  Products manufactured by both Chata and Boval are supplied to other, highly-regulated manufacturers that demand critical quality assurances and are distributed in 22 countries around the globe.  Questions regarding the certifications or businesses should be directed to Boval’s headquarters in Cleburne, Texas at (800) 635-1706.

New Facility Complete

Loveland, CO – Chata Biosystems, LLC announced the completion of facility validations and production of the first commercial product in their new facility. The Chata manufacturing plant had been previously located in Ft. Collins, but the company recently moved to a larger facility located near the Ft. Collins – Loveland Municipal Airport and constructed specialized production suites suitable for pharmaceutical customers. “With the move, we have greatly expanded both our capabilities and capacities. The interior construction, relocation activities, and validation studies were conducted with a minimum amount of disruption to our client base, which is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our hard-working Colorado employees. I am very proud of them.” stated Ron Gohdes, Vice President. Ft. Collins, Colorado based Chata Biosystems, LLC announced today that it has secured a second manufacturing location in Northern Colorado to accommodate its current and future growth.  The updated facility will be located near the Ft. Collins – Loveland Airport.  The company expects to be fully operational there in the first quarter of 2013 following specialized construction due to its unique production requirements. Boval Company, LP Reorganization

Cleburne -- Boval Company, LP, today announced a reorganization.  The changes, effective January 1, 2012 reorganized the company’s biological and chemical solutions businesses to improve operational efficiencies and strengthen both business units.  This reorganization will be transparent to the company’s customers, vendors and employees and will allow for better integration for future acquisitions.

At the heart of the reorganization is the formation of two new business groups:

  • The biological component production group based in Cleburne, Texas will be reorganized into Boval BioSolutions, LLC.  This group includes all albumin production, cell culture reagent sourcing and diagnostic chemicals.  The site will also serve as a central laboratory for the entire company.
  • The chemicals solutions manufacturer based in Ft.Collins, CO will be reorganized into Chata Biosystems, LLC.  This group provides custom support solutions to the QC laboratories and production facilities in the pharmaceutic, energy and agriculture industries.
  • Boval Company, LP will continue to be the parent of both organizations with Cody Yarborough remaining President.  The company’s headquarters will remain in Cleburne, Texas.

Chata Biosystems, a Fort Collins, CO based division of Boval Company announced today the promotion and appointment of Michelle Stahla to QA/QC Manager of the Colorado facility.  Ms. Stahla has been employed with Chata since 2008 in a Quality Supervisor role.  She holds a degree in Biological Sciences from Colorado State University and was previously named a Senior Researcher of the Year.  “Since the acquisition, Michelle has demonstrated a high degree of intelligence and ethics in maintaining the quality standards at Chata and will be instrumental in the integration of the two companies” according to Cody Yarborough, President of Boval.  Ms. Stahla can be contacted at (970) 530-2229 or by email at
